Mikhail's 3rd grade teacher does a "Wax Museum" with her class each year. One of the 6th grade teachers does it with her class also. Each of the students selects a famous American and writes a short biography of the person and puts together a tri-fold board with some of the information presented. On the day of the presentation each of the kids comes to school dressed as their character and takes their place in their designated spot in the MPR which has been turned into a Wax Museum. The kids stand still like wax figures until someone comes by and pushes a button in front of their spot and then they give their little talk about their character. It is really a neat activity. The kids learn about history and learn how to speak in front of others. Some of the characters were Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates, Martha Graham and Cleopatra. Mikhail was Dr. Suess. He wore a suit and we sprayed his hair gray to look like the real guy. We had a gotee for him but when we put it on his face he said, "If I show my emotions it is going to fall off!" So he didn't wear it. It was a nice presentation and I learned a lot.
